Currently a Creative Writing student at LBCC, Marie Cartier previously earned her Ph.D. in Religion from Claremont University and authored the critically acclaimed book, Baby, You Are My Religion. Her works of fiction have gained recognition and awards. In 2021 her story Beyond Desire: Working it Out garnered the Drury Award and she received a Certificate of Recognition from the City of West Hollywood. She is a senior lecturer in Gender and Women’s Studies and Queer Studies at CSU Northridge.
